Our Process
We are obsessed with quality, detail, and celebrating the plant’s natural flavors and aromas. Here’s how we do it.
Cultivation
All of Proper’s plants follow the same path: Propagation room, Vegetation room, then Flower room. Rather than one large space, Proper has chosen to build multiple smaller rooms, allowing us to grow similar strains together in a hyper-controlled environment.
Every plant is examined daily and defoliated by our cultivation team. Using state of the art technology, the team is able to precisely control every aspect of the grow, from lighting to fertigation and beyond.
Post-Harvest
The post-harvest team cuts, trims, and weighs the plants before hanging each individually to dry at a relatively low temperature. This extended, gentle drying process allows us to better maintain the terpenes. Once appropriately dried, the team hand-manicures the plants, then places the flower in curing containers, which increases the aroma and flavor. Trim is sent to our manufacturing team.
Processing
When our plants destined to become live resin are harvested, they are cryogenically frozen to preserve the strain’s terpene profile. Using our extractor, we are able to create full spectrum products such as sauce, diamonds, rosin, and uncut live resin vape cartridges. Plant material destined for our culinary team goes through a further refinement process. Using winterization and short path distillation, we are able to create a pure, tasteless distillate.
Culinary
To make our edibles, we start with sourcing the finest ingredients from around the world. We use real fruit in our gumdrops and the best European chocolate for our chocolate bars. These high quality ingredients are combined with our pure distillate and deposited into molds on our state of the art Italian one-shot depositing line, then packaged in house.
