YOUR FEEDBACK FROM PHASE 1
WHAT IS A PHENO HUNT?
A pheno hunt (short for phenotype hunt) is the process of of discovering the best expression of a genetic cross. Breeders and cultivators look for plants that express the best combination of traits—such as structure, yield, potency, terpene profile, trichome production, and effect. The goal is to find the unique phenotypes that best represent or improve upon the breeder’s intentions before bringing it to the public. It’s a mix of science and art: collecting agronomic data, making observations, and testing effects, while also relying on intuition and experience. It is all about quality, consistency, and making sure what we are offering consumers is truly special.
WHO IS ALIEN GENETICS?
Founded in 1999 in Honeydew, CA, Alien Genetics grew out of a journey of healing and a dedication to craft and genetic diversity. Experimenting with crosses, the breeder quickly grasped the potential of intentional pairings, with early seeds spreading organically up and down the West Coast. By the mid-2000s, Alien Genetics began sharing work online, and the first major release, Starfighter, shattered auction records—followed by the legendary Fruity Pebbles OG, which became one of the most requested strains in modern cannabis. Later releases like Alien Rock Candy, built from Tahoe Alien pollen, cemented Alien Genetics as a pioneering name in breeding, driven not by hype but by a philosophy rooted in genetic diversity, unique terpene profiles, and creating new flavors and effects for consumers.
