2nd most abundant cannabinoid
CBD is one of more than 100 cannabinoids found in cannabis, and it’s usually the second most abundant after THC. CBD on it’s own doesn’t produce the kind of high that THC does. Many patients who are new to cannabis, want to use it during the day, or who find THC alone too intense start their journey with CBD.
We are not medical providers, and we don't make claims about what CBD does for any condition. What we can do is describe products accurately so you can make an informed choice and have a better conversation with your doctor.
What patients and caregivers typically ask about:
Is this the same as the CBD I bought at the gas station? No. Our CBD products are produced and lab-tested under Missouri's medical cannabis program, so the label tells you exactly what's in each product, including its THC content. Many over-the-counter hemp products aren't tested the same way. Just ask, and our staff will show you the lab information for any product.
How do I choose the right product? Start with three things:
- Ratio: Some products contain only CBD, while others pair it with a small amount of THC. A 20:1 product, for example, has 20mg of CBD for every 1mg of THC. A 1:1 product has equal amounts of each.
- Dose: Look at the mg per dropper, piece or puff. We always suggest starting low and going slow.
- Format: Each format works on a different timeline. Tinctures taken under the tongue typically take effect in 15 to 45 minutes. Edibles can take up to 2 hours. Topicals are applied to the skin.
Can I take CBD with my medications? CBD can interact with some prescription medications, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding it to your routine.
